Welcome to DREAMLAND LIVE, Dreamland’s Blog
Dreamland is a practice of RE-EMERGENCE with the belief that professional evolution is possible, necessary and actually wonderful at any stage.
A startup is a very different story for a Re-Emerger. I don’t wear technology in my DNA. I worked peacefully for many years without wearing the hat of a branding strategist, knowing the intricacies of social media integration, business plans, or understanding the graphic visualization softwares required to enliven my ‘platform’. Creating a website is both a hair graying catalyst as well as a magnificent opportunity for clarification. I learned lots of new words such as the distinctions between mission, vision, positioning and tone of voice. All of it seemed to clash with the emotional and aesthetic spirit of the practice. I communicated the spirit of the mission, of which I was very clear, to a host of helpers who worked ever so patiently with me, as I shook my head with a consistent, ‘no’. It was a struggle with perfection, alignment, truth, balance and deadline.
So, here is a visual display to thank my intergenerational guides. I extract here the conversations and discarded marks, the endless versions and strategies – let’s call them sketches - that did not make it to the end, but which each contributed in their own ways to the final, distilled result.
